I like it at tournaments when I get to set up terrain. I usually feel I get an advantage right off the start. Players seldom take advantage of this other than to give theeir scouts a place to hide or their warmachines a hill. I often use terrain to break up the board so the main battle lane is sized to my army and there is cover for my troops, or a hill where I will be fighting. further while many like hills for their warmachines I find difficult terran is often a better place to set them up. This protects them from fliers and infiltrators better.
