Well I have finally finished purusing the new Dark Elf book for Warhammer and it is a very frustrating book.  Sure it improves the Dark elves a lot and makes them very playable in many forms but this book enforces the distressing theme for 7th ed of heros, combos and no fun to play against.  Once more they mess with the normal army construction rules by allowing Assassins to be choosen from core points!  These are not limited so you could easy play 8 characters.   Further they allow combinations of gifts of Kaine, magic items, and special abilities from the cauldron.  Although the Spearmen got cheaper and can get magic banners, they will seldom see a lot of play as the Black Guard and Executioners are both incredible.  Further the black guard are easy to make into an unstoppable force, with two attacks, eternal hatred, immune to psychology, and stubborn GW removed any sort of trick to remove these other than killing them dead which is hard to do as will either swing first or have armor piecing and elf initutive.  I have not even mentioned the Cauldron of blood which can grant any unit +1 attack, 5+ ward save, or killing blow plus it makes certain units within a range stubborn.  There is almost no way to stop this as they made the cauldron indestructable.   Of course the new set of books would not be complete without a full set of errors, and confusing rules so an FAQ will be required and the special characters are designed to annoy opponents and completely dominate games.  So more fun in the Warhammer world.
