For the last couple of weeks John and I have been playing warhammer ancients on Thursday night. This has been a guilty pleasure of ours for quite some time but it has been a while since we played. and these last two games have reminded me how much I enjoy ancients. This game may be similiar to warhammer but it is really a troop game and for the most part every model is fairly similiar to each othe. As such the games are tough tactical struggle which swing back and forth each turn. It is really refreshing to see 200+ models and 6+ fighting units on a side in a 2000pt game. It reminds me what fantasy should be but is not. So if you are looking for an army combat game and have any interest in pre-modern history I would highly recommend you try to convince your play buddies into giving this game a serious look. After all with the options like Old glory miniatures, and the new warlord plastics this game also have a fairly low entry cost for a miniature game as well.
