It has won Spiel des Jahres and has two expansions out already and has been called the non collectible magic the gathering. Well Dominion has certainly taking the gaming world by storm making us forget Agricola. Unfortunately Dominion seems to wear out its welcome as fast as it arrived. It is a simple game of in which you play one action, buy one card and then draw a new hand. Actions may allow more things to happen or may attack other players and that is really all there is to the game. But with a large variety of cards to use and lots of variation it seems to have a lot of replay value. This is the problem as all cards do not play well and as random selection of 10 decks is the most common way to produce the cards players get to choose from, often random produces dull games.
All this said the game has great potential. Players can select the cards use and get better games. If a single set wanted I would select the intrique expansion as it is a stand alone and seems to produce better games. Either way you will enjoy it for a while and if you work at it this could become one of your favorite games ever.
