Scenario Club

Starting January 24 we at Boldo's would like to make Thursday Night Warhammer Fantasy a little special.
We would like to try to do something a different by playing set games without set opponents.
Every two week we will propose a different scenario and each week you should come prepared to play either side. We will record result for each scenario and for each player.
Then we will post the results on the web pagegiving a total score for each side.
You find your own opponents and we provide the scenarios. Play different people and different sides of each scenario if possible. You can even use a different army for each scenario.

  • January 24 and 31 -- The Fall of Chaqua (Scenario 8 Pg 211)) Attacker 2500 pts/ Defender 1250pts

  • February 7 and 14 -- The Seven Knights (Scenario 9, pg 213) 2000pts

  • Febuary 21 and 28 -- Boldo Scenario 1 (see Below) 2000pts

  • March 7 and 14 -- The Ogham Stones (Albion Scenario 3 pg 19) 2500pts

  • March 21 and 28 -- The Battle of Pine Crags (Scenario 6, pg 209) Attacker 1500pts/ Defender 2250pts

  • April 4 and 11 -- Boldo Scenario 2 (see Below) 2250 pts

  • April 18 and 25 -- The Battle of Bogwurst (Scenario 5 pg 207) 3000pts


Boldo Scenarios

  • Scenario 1 The scattered forces


    • Setup: Each player chooses a side and sets and marks a point 12 inches up the side from their back edge. Then moving around the edge of the board they mark another point every 24 " until there are 5 points marked.
      They then mark a position 12" from the center of the board toward their side. These points are then numbered one through six so the board looks like this:

      Starting with core units each player chooses one unit and rolls a d6 placing the selected unit at that point.
      This is repeated unitl six units are placed. If a side runs out of core they then place special and then rares. Characters must start with a unit unless they have unit strength of 4 or more and then are placed as rares, and there is no scouting or infiltration.

    • Special Rules: Unplaced units arrive two at a time at a random location at the start of each turn. They arrive as units which have run off the board. These units arrive at a random location except if a six is rolled they do not arrive that turn.

    • Victory conditions: Standard victory conditions are used.


  • Boldo Scenario 2 Five Flags


    • Setup: divide the board into table quarters and place a coin in the center of each table quarter and one more coin in hte center of the board

    • These coins are flags and they can not be moved. Each player then sets up as normal except they may only set up 8" in from the back edge.
    • Special Rules: Game length is 8 turns or unit on side controls all 5 flags. A flag is controlled if a unit of size 5 or more is on the flag and not engaged with any enemy unit.

    • Victory: At the end of 8 turns if neither side has won the game automatically then the side which controlls the most flags wins.
