Origins Awards Winners Announced

At a gala ceremony at the 2001 Origins International Game Expo and Fair, the
Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design today announced the winners of the
20000 Origins Awards, the premier awards for design and production excellence
in adventure games. In addition, the Academy inducted two classic games, and
two respected game professionals, into the Adventure Gaming Hall of Fame.

"This was an exciting year for the Origins Awards," said Academy Chairman
Charles Ryan. "Public response to the new originsawards.com web site was
terrific. And we had the biggest ceremony ever. The Awards have become a real
cornerstone of the Origins show, and one of the biggest events of the year for
the adventure games industry."

The Origins Awards are a 27-year tradition of the Academy of Adventure Gaming
Arts & Design. Each year, nominees are selected by the Academy membership,
then voted on by the gaming public and the Academy by mail and at
http://www.originsawards.org. Winners are announced and the Awards given out
at a gala ceremony at the Origins International Game Expo and Fair. This
year’s Awards ceremony was held the night of Friday, July 6th, at Origins in
Columbus, Ohio.

The Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design is the professional association
of the adventure and hobby game industry. The Fellows of the Academy include
the foremost designers, authors, illustrators, and other professionals of the
games industry. The Academy is a committee of GAMA, the Game Manufacturers
Association.
